“This past year has been yet another one fraught with changes. We celebrated not only as we saw sports venues slowly re-open to both athletes and spectators, but also at the increased uptake in exercise around the globe as limited outdoor time became the only means of both physically and mentally escaping the hardships of lockdowns,” said Dr Adam Carey, Chair of ESSNA.

The sports and active nutrition sector has shown an incredible resilience to an uncertain market, and its innovation has meant that so many more consumers prioritise their health – we very much deserved this night to celebrate!”.

“Year on year, the sports and active nutrition industry across Europe has tapped into and driven a shift in consumer mindsets, encouraging more and more people to make a long-term lifestyle change and prioritise their health. Sports nutrition brands not only help athletes on all stages of their exercise journeys perform better, but also create a culture of goal-driven optimism. Well done to this year’s ESSNawards winners, who are paving the way forward in this ever-growing sector,” said Chris Whitehouse, Chair of Whitehouse Communications

“Informed Sport is again pleased to help bring together the European sports nutrition industry for to recognise the very best work that brands have undertaken in the last year,” added Terence O’Rorke, Business Development Manager

According to O’Rorke, “as the sports nutrition market grows to accommodate the increasing numbers of consumers looking to improve their health and lifestyles, it has never been more important to ensure that new products are safe and compliant. “Which is where we hope to help all new brands and NPD endeavours.”
