Informed Sport, part of the international life sciences company LGC Group, is a global banned substance testing and certification programme designed to provide quality assurance for the sports nutrition industry. It gives athletes, drug tested personnel and consumers confidence that every batch of a certified supplement product has been tested for more than 250 substances prohibited in sport and ensures that products have been manufactured to high quality standards.

Informed Sport is returning as a sponsor of the European Specialist Sports Nutrition Awards (ESSNawards) 2021 for the third year in a row, demonstrating its dedication to excellence in the sports and active nutrition industries.

Established in 2008, Informed Sport continues to expand its global footprint with 2,500 unique certified products stemming from 325 different brands worldwide. Informed Sport is recognised and trusted by sporting bodies, anti-doping organisations, athletes, and armed forces members to minimise the risks associated with supplement use and provide them with assurance in the products they use.

Supplement products are tested by LGC’s world-class anti-doping laboratories in the UK and US for contamination against a broad range of banned substances, using ISO 17025 accredited methods. With over 400 published scientific papers and over 500 people-years of research into doping control, LGC and Informed Sport are recognised as global leaders and trusted partners in the field of anti-doping and supplement analysis. The quality assurance group has been testing supplement products for prohibited substances since 2002, and has tested tens of thousands of product/ingredient samples during this time. Currently, LGC’s laboratories test over 22,000 samples per year for more than 600 companies worldwide.

All certified supplement products and their batch testing information is listed on as well as the Informed Sport mobile app.
